Floyd D. Loop, M.D. became a Radius Venture Partner in 2007 after having served on Radius’ Advisory Board since 2005. Dr. Loop has been affiliated with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation since 1970, where he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Governors from 1989 to 2004. Dr. Loop was previously Chairman of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery from 1975 to 1999. Dr. Loop is also the former President of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and has served in numerous leadership roles in the areas of science and education.

Dr. Loop serves on the board of directors of EndoGastric Solutions, Inc. and Management Health Solutions, Inc. and previously served on the board of directors of Athersys, Inc., each a Radius portfolio company. Dr. Loop also serves on the board of directors of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, Intuitive Surgical, Inc., and several private corporate boards. He has written extensively, with over 350 publications to date, and has served on numerous healthcare editorial boards.

Dr. Loop received his B.S. in Science from Purdue University and his M.D. from George Washington University.
