James M. Mead became a Radius Venture Partner in 2007 after having served on Radius’ Advisory Board since 2004. Mr. Mead is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Capital BlueCross (Harrisburg, PA), after having served twenty years as its President and CEO from 1984 to 2004.

From 1988 to 2004, he also served on the board of directors of the BlueCross BlueShield Association, sitting on many national committees and chairing its Plan Performance and Financial Standards Committee. He is also the former Chairman of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Mr. Mead is currently a member of the board of directors of the Hershey Trust Company, the Milton Hershey School, the Milton S. Hershey Foundation, the Greater Harrisburg Foundation, Vitality Group, LLC, Lebanon Valley College, and Management Health Solutions, Inc., a Radius portfolio company.

Mr. Mead holds B.S. and M.A. degrees in economics from Penn State University and was appointed an Alumni Fellow of the University in 1986.
